1) Complete and turn in a City of Somerset Application and a TCOLE Personal History Statement (PHS) and all supporting documents.

2) Preliminary Background and Qualifications Check

3) Structured Officer Panel Interview
​
4) Thorough Background Investigation
​
5) Admin Interview
​
6) ***Medical and Psychological Exams (New Peace Officer or P.O. with 180-day break in service or more; to be paid for by the applicant)***
7) Final Selection/Recommendation to City Administrator, Mayor and City Council for Appointment as a Reserve Somerset Police Officer
